After a couple of years, though I started to worry about her so much that it was negatively affecting my life. There was no electrical system or self-bailing cockpit so every time it rained, I needed to find time to go pump out the bilge. The brightwork took a lot of time to keep up. My father found a boat builder in Maine who was building a schooner but wanted something to sail on during the interim and I happily sold it to him. I calculated the wages I’d earned inc. the materials and it came out to $0.97/hour. I also got 4 credits towards my graduation. I have unfortunately consistently erred on the side of extra effort rather than brilliantly targeted efficiency.
